Possible electives fall into the follow categories. Check with the registrar as to course availability.

Academic Offerings

Fundamentals of Writing Music

This course is designed to provide students with the skills to write music down on paper. Basic music theory facts will be taught and/or reviewed. Students will be encouraged to begin writing their own compositions.

Conducting

The techniques of conducting and leading vocal and instrumental ensembles will be demonstrated and practiced. It is preferred that students entering grades 10 and above take this class. However, younger students may be considered.

Bible Study

This class will study select areas of the Bible and is designed to inspire students to continue the study of scripture throughout their lives. Class participation and daily outside reading are required. Students need their own Bible.

Planning for Worship

This course is designed to teach students how to plan and implement an exciting worship service. All aspects of the liturgy will be examined from the ride to church, to the postlude, and everything in-between. The class will also help plan our daily worship services as well as the closing festival service.

Sharing Your Faith

In this class, students will learn how to express what they believe, how to answer questions about their faith, and how to feel comfortable sharing their faith with others.

Sound System Applications

This class will cover sound system set up and techniques such as microphone placement, use of mixing boards, sound level control, and use of other sound equipment.

Independent Study

This elective is only available to students in grades 10-12. The goal of this elective is to allow older students the chance to concentrate on a particular subject throughout the week. Permission must be obtained from the camp director in advance, and a staff member must be available and willing to serve as an advisor. The student MUST make these arrangements PRIOR to arriving at camp. (Justification for selecting this elective MUST be furnished with your registration form.)
